LPCI’s version of day camping in Munting Buhangin

DSC_0010

Hello World!!!

I seem to have an illness.  It is called summer separation disorder.  Haha.  I still cannot get over summer.  I still want go to more beaches and enjoy the sun……  Although that is achievable, all I need is to have time.  Thats it time, oh why your so precious?

Since Im still in summer mode, why not talk about our company summer outing and team building.  It was held in Munting Buhangin Beach Camp, in Nasugbo Batangas.  It is about 2 to 3 hours away from Makati.  It is near enough for a weekend get away.  The beach is nice and the wind is refreshing too.  You can  sense of the rural atmosphere, calm and quiet and yet you know you are still near the urban chaos.

The activity was organized by our Human Resource Department.  They prepared various fun games that promotes team building.  In fairness, the games were quite simple yet enjoyable.  It really stir the competitivenes in each employee; leaders came out with strategies and in the end team work prevails.  It was a day of fun and peer bonding.  Nothing serious really.  We just took a day out of our office cubicles and enjoyed the sand, sun and each other companies.

Just like any other tourists, We are exited to see the islets and beaches of Coron.  We are ready to be kissed by the sun and turn golden brown….haha.  That is why we wore long sleeves rashguard? Whatever…..

So our tour started around 7 AM.  We went to their pier and meet our tour assistant.  He pointed our boat that will be our ride for the day. Then, our Island hopping began.  I must say, when you go island hopping in Coron, its best to bring your own equipments (snorkle and the aqua shoes).  Also, do not forget to bring bread for the fishes.

Climbing Mt. Tapyas as cardio exercise

??????????

Hello World!!!

This is a late post.  Me and my travel buddies went to Coron last year.  We went there before Yolanda came. Thus, we were fortunate to see the landmark in Mt. Tapyas, the gigantic cross.  Im sure the view from the top is still the same.  It is literally breathtaking.

Depending on your lung capacity, the climb is about 15 minutes to 1 hour.  Hehe. We went there around 4 PM.  Perfect time, the sun is not so high and the wind is breezy.  Do not forget to bring water going up.  You might need it halfway.  Actually the climb is not that hard.  There are pathways and cemented stairs.  The problem is with me.  I do not have exercise.  That is because I am usually confined in the office from morning to late afternoon.  The result: my lungs was quite surprised with the activity.  Hahaha.  I almost give up.  I am thankful that my travel buddies were quite persistent,  I was able to reached the top.  I am so happy.  The view is really great.  It was worth the climb.

Haler Baler!!! LPCI Finance learn to surf

DSC_0281

Hello World!!! Hello Baler!!!

Time really run fast….Its July already….Wheeoww!!!

So, What have I’ve been doing these past months? Heres the run down:

First quarter is always the same….Deadline frenzy for all reports. Books to be closed, Adjustments should be finalized and of course the schedules for year end audit should be submitted….Thank goodness its  all finished and done…. Now  we can move on….. What I am saying is that, its my least favorite quarter of the year……I Do not want to look back… hehe….

Second Quarter brings promise for summer fun.  And we did just that!!!  Me and my Finance collegues went to Baler and we learned and experienced the fun of surfing.  I know for a fact that my body is not for surfing, but I cannot deny the fact that it gives me a different kind of joy and energy.  I really enjoyed the activity.  It is quite addicting too.  Just like pringles once you pop you cant stop.

Every year we have our departmental summer outing. This year, LPCI Finance decided to visit the beautiful Baler.  Yes Baler in Aurora.  And yes it is quite far for we travelled 6 hours from Makati, but again it is worth the distance and the time.  The place is so charming and relaxing.  We had fun…As in so much fun.  The best time to enjoy the sun and learn to surf.  The waves are small, smooth, just perfect for us beginners.

Food Trip: Sweet Pea

Hello world!!!

Last Wednesday, July 20 I went out with my barkada (almost siblings).  Yes, It was in the middle of the work week, but that is the only time we could meet up.  Meggy who is now based in Davao is in the metro for only 3 days (work travel).  We agreed to meet and Donna suggested that we meet in Mc Kinley Hill.  She said that we should try some of the resto in Venice Piazza.  So the place is decided and so off we go.

It was my first time going inside Mc Kinley Hill.  Wow, it has a little community inside.  I heard of it but I did not imagine that it would look like I am in another City.  hehe.  The architecture of Venice Piazza is like eastwood in libis.  Since, it is in the middle of the week, we did not have difficulty looking for the place to eat.  Roy recommend Sweet pea.  At first, our reactions is like, sweet? as in we will skip to dessert already? hehehe Anyway, he corrected us and told us that they have a wide variety of food selection.  Ok fine, we trust him on this and sure thankful of his suggestion.  The food are all yummy.  I will recommend the resto to everyone.  The food taste really good and the prices are reasonable.  I asked Roy if Sweet pea has other branches, he said none, but I still have to verify that.  Ok, here are the pictures of us and our food.  Be warned that I am not a good food photographer.  I feel that I did not do justice to  them, but please believe me they are superbly cooked and flavored.

Singapore-Kuala Lumpur Trip Day 3: Menara Tower

Hello world!!!

We are back on my Singapore-Kuala Lumpur trip.  We are still riding the Hop on Hop off and our first stop is The Menara Tower.  It is located in Jalan Punchak, Kuala Lumpur. It is stop number 2 of Hop-on Hop off.  It is also known as KL tower.

Menara stands 421 meters high.  It is the fourth tallest tower in the world.  It was completed in May 1996 and been open to public July 1996.  Attractions offered in the tower includes observation deck, dining, shopping, open-air amphitheater, cultural and musical shows.  Since we only have one day, we tried visiting the observation deck and the cultural village.

Look at how high and magnificent this tower is

In the observation deck, they are giving this virtual guide.

Posting while listening....

The virtual guide is really helpful. It tells us tourist of the history of the places at you see outside the tower

Singapore-Kuala Lumpur Trip Day 3 : Hop on Hop Off experience

Hello world!!!

Today, I will share to you what happened on our third day.  That is the KL  Hop on Hop off experience.  Have any of you tried it?  It may not be originally from Malaysia, but the intention and idea is great.  Very tourist friendly.

KL Hop-On Hop-off is developed based on the established services from other “touristy” cities like Paris and London.  They just adjust their bus to suit their roads and climate.  What’s cool with it is that the bus is equipped with a recorded city tour guide in nine different languages.  Yes, you read it right 9 languages.  Thus, there is no reason not to understand Malaysia’s History and the  stories behind the architectures of the attractions.   The bus stops in 22 pit stops.  These designated pit stop is conveniently located in such a way that major tourist attraction is nearby.  The Hop-on Hop-off service runs in a circle routes and operates 365 days a year even in holidays.  Just avoid it during rush hour.  Yes, that is from 4PM to 6PM.  I have read about it before but being hard headed as I am, we did not listen to the advise and so we were stuck in the traffic.  But, anyways I also kind of appreciate it.  I witness how Malaysian react in a traffic jam.  They are still cool and nobody is honking so even if you are in the middle of traffic you are not stressed.  People are discipline and patient.  I hope someday, we Pinoys will be like that too.   All passengers are provided with pamphlets wherein attractions in each pit stop are enumerated. You will not be lost and you can even plan where you want to go first and you can go back if you realized you miss something.  Hehehe.  That is because the bus route is in circle.

Originally, I planned to feature here all the places that we visited that day.  But, when I started to sort the pictures, I realized that we went to so many tourist attraction that day.  It would be so picture loaded and so much information that you may get bored.  Thus, this post is solely for the Hop-on hop-off experience.  Here are the pictures. Enjoy!!! I very much love my double-decker adventure!!!!

This the route map. Image is courtesy of their website http://www.myhoponhopoff.com

The buses are double-decker and glass roofed. Cool!!!

The bus are colorful and comfortable too.

If you want a hassle free navigation in Kuala Lumpur, I strongly recommend this.

See we are so tourists....hahaha

This how the bus look inside

Singapore-Kuala Lumpur Trip Day 2

We arrived in Kuala Lumpur around 5:30AM.  Our Malaysian adventure officially started….Hooray!!!

First stop is KLCC.  Our plan is to go up their bridge…..But we did not have the chance…..The line is sooooooo long and we are a bit late.  Just like that.  Better luck next time for us.  We had our breakfast there and we also freshen up there.  Yes you read it right.  We went there directly from bus so we are technically fresh from bed.  After we change clothes and brush our teeth off we go find a place to have our breakfast.  The catch is: we have to find some resto that have CC terminal.  It is suppose to be an easy quest, but it is so early, the mall is not yet open and we do not have ringgit yet.  That’s lesson learned.  Do not forget to bring local currency.  As in can you imagine we are 8 who traveled and not one thought of changing money for ringgit. Good thing KFC opens early. hehhe.  We ate and rest and wait for ate Nora. She is Caryl’s friend who will accompany us to Chinatown where she booked us for two nights, and she will also be our tour guide for the day she will also accompany us to Batu Cave.  But first, we need to check-in and leave some of our things so that we can enjoy the sites.

Upon check-in, we rested for 2 hours.  We took a nap and off we go to Batu cave.  I am amazed with Malaysia. They have very rich and diverse culture.  People there practice different religions but able to live harmoniously.  Colorful.  You will really feel you are in Asia.  For me, I feel that my Asian history lessons pop out and appear to me in real just like in cartoons. I like it very much.  Here are some pictures to say much more.  Enjoy….This is pic heavy…be warned.

Yipee.....Kuala Lumpur at last!!!

I have to have this picture taken.....KL tower.

A little bit rested, energy recharged and ready to post. Batu Cave already.

We went here because we saw this in Travel Asia. That time they had a ceremony going on (in travel asia I mean).

Reality bites!!! Have to climb and it was so hot that time......Water!!!

Finally we reached the top.

This is whats inside the cave. More stairs. Seriously?!!! hehehe

This is a holy place.

Look at that....It has a hole. Nature is really a great architect.

Ok so my curiosity was satisfied.

This is how it look from the cave.

Malaysia, Truly Asia.

Pretty eh? hehe

Caution: If you don't want to be robbed, do not display your food. hehe.

Pigeons, so plenty and pretty.

These two are always ready to post.

We heard that there is some ceremony that will take place later. But we did not wait we still have to go somewhere.

Look at them. I love that they are always wearing colorful dresses. Nice to look at but I cannot imagine myself wearing, under that heat.

I saw many of this going up the stairs. Maybe part of the ceremony and their faith.

We cant help it. We saw this little girl, we have to take picture with her.

Do it your self travelers. Now you wait for the bus. Hehehhe

Bus... not that bus I hope? Hahaha.

This is where our day ends. A dinner with this wonderful couple. They are so hospitable and friendly. Ate Nora, is one lucky OFW to have them as bosses.
